Guideline for Foreign Language Test Application (1^st semester of 2024)

■  Candidates: Students enrolled in Master's or Ph.D. programs that have not yet certified their English language proficiency to INU GSL (all students, including newly enrolled students in their first semesters).

■  Application deadline: 2024 March 4^th (Mon) to March 9^th (Sat)

Method of Application and Document Submission

There are two tracks available for English language proficiency certification. Students are required to select one option and demonstrate their proficiency in the English language before graduation:

1) Language recognition through Certified English Exams.

This track is available for students who can demonstrate their language proficiency through Certified English Proficiency Scores. Test type and results must meet the following criteria:

TOEFL (PBT 540 or higher, iBT 76 or higher, CBT 207 or higher), TOEIC 700 or higher, IELTS 6.0 or higher, TEPS 55 or higher.

    ▶ Required documents: 1 application form (portal), 1 Certified English Test Score sheet

Application method:
INU Portal -> Integrated information system(통합정보시스템) → Academic administration → Graduation → Foreign language test management - Application for foreign language test (외국어시험 신청) → Add button → Selection of subjects for foreign language test (accredited English certification) 외국어시험과목 선택 (공인영어인증합격) → Input exam related information → Application → Print the application form (signed and sealed) and submit it via email along with the Certified English Test Score sheet.

 

2) Language recognition through an Online Course.

INU GSL provides access to an online course (free of charge) for English language proficiency certification

Application method:
INU Portal -> Integrated information system(통합정보시스템) → Academic administration → Graduation → Foreign language test management - Application for foreign language test (외국어시험 신청) → Add button → Selection of subjects for foreign language test (online course) 외국어시험과목 선택(온라인강좌) → Application → Print the application form (signed and sealed) and submit it via email.

· Select one of the following two courses (free)

  1) Pagoda TOEIC 700+ Skills Completion RC [3rd Edition] (1)

  2) Pagoda TOEIC 700+ Skills Completion RC [3rd Edition] (2)

※ Course period: March 4^th  (Mon) to March 22^nd (Fri) March

※ Recognition will not be granted to students who take the course out of the designated period.

※ Completion criteria: 70 points or higher (80% attendance, 20% evaluation test)
